REDUCTION IN THEFT AT HOTSPOT |

After listening to local residents, we've been able to stop vehicle theft offences in a hotspot location in Tamworth. Local policing team officers reviewed a total of 35 reports of vehicle-related crime in the Spinning School Lane area in the last 12 months. An investigation revealed that most of these reports were keyless thefts of Ford Transit vans and other vehicles, from around 10am to 3pm. We responded by increasing our patrols in the area at the identified times, as well as placing mobile cameras in the area and reviewing other CCTV footage. We also sent out plain-clothed officers, put signage up at the location, while our cadets also handed out vehicle security advice leaflets in the area. As a result of this work, no vehicle offences have been reported at the location since mid-March 2026. We continue to work to pursue individuals involved in vehicle crime across the county. We are listening, learning, and working with the community to proactively tackle the issues that matter most to you. #VisibleLocalTrusted
